Joann Dwyer

November 23, 1951 - January 17, 2022

Joann Dwyer, 70, of Riverhead, NY, passed away on Monday, January 17th, after a long battle with heart disease and cancer. She died from septic shock, then contracting COVID-19. Joann was born on Novemer 23, 1951 to Julia and Edward Madruga in Brooklyn, NY. After graduating from Valley Stream Central High School in 1970, she became a homemaker first and a Mom a few years later. She also worked at a few different places over the years to occupy her time. She made many friendships throughout that time and remained friends with many of her colleagues in the years that followed. Joann was a passionate DIY'er and could fix literally anything, better than most men. She loved to paint (and not on canvas) more the walls in the house and she seemed to have natural talent for it. She was thoughful and caring and we will miss her greatly. Joann was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Julie, and her siblings, Judith Balazs, Mary Jones, & Edward Madruga. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Potar) Bremer and husband Sean Bremer of Brick, NJ, and daughter Dawnmarie Franklin and partner Jeramy Postilio, of South Hampton, NY. She is also survived by her siblings, Robert Madruga and Grace Rice and her husband Joseph Rice. The family requests that all flowers and notes be sent to Robertaccio Funeral Home, 495 Main Street, Center Moriches, NY 11934. There will be a Memorial Service on January 25th, between 5-8pm at Robertaccio Funeral Home.
