Katherine T. Dayton

Katherine T. Dayton, a resident of Patchogue Village passed away peacefully at her home on July 26th in her 94th year. Katherine was one of two children born to late parents Henry and Anna Marsh in Calverton, NY. Her family eventually relocated to Westhampton, NY where she attended Westhampton Beach High School before joining the workforce. Katherine and her family moved to Patchogue. Katherine worked for several years on a duck farm in Eastport followed by the New York Telephone Company and finally as a teacher’s aide for Bellport School District. Katherine met and married Wallace Nulty and the two lived in Patchogue where she would reside for the next 73 years of her life. Together, Wallace and Katherine had four children. Katherine took great pride in caring for her family and loved cooking and baking for friends, family and other loved ones. In February 1966, Katherine married Paul Eugene Dayton and the two remained wed until his passing in 1998. Katherine and Paul thoroughly enjoyed traveling together and would often take the children along on their journeys. Katherine is predeceased by her beloved husband Paul E. Dayton, son Timothy Nulty, brother Nicholas Marsh and son-in-law Joseph J. Breslin. Katherine leaves her three loving children; Paul Nulty, Jean Nulty and Cheryl Nulty Breslin along with 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren to cherish her memory. Reposing will take place on Thursday, August 5th from 6 to 8 pm at the Robertaccio Funeral Home, Inc. in Patchogue. A religious service will take place Thursday Evening. Family and friends are welcomed to gather at the funeral home the following day between 9:30 am and 10 am. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Center Moriches.
