Michael Gallo
April 14, 1923 - December 29, 2020
Michael was born April 14, 1923 in Patchogue to Sulllivan Gallo and Mary Palermo Gallo. Raised during The Great Depression he was shuffled around to several family households and still managed, along with his cousin Louis Gallo, Jr. to become a five-time New York State High School wrestling champion. Michael was also a lifetime member and Ex-Chief (1963-64) of the Hagerman Fire Department for over 75 years and a former member of the Bellport Rotary Club for 20 years. Michael was married to Phyllis Amoruso Gallo from September 17, 1944 until her untimely death from cancer on September 23, 1990. They lived and raised four children, Gabriel, Ralph, Michele and Stephen on a duck farm in East Patchogue that was started by Michael’s father and Uncle the same year Michael was born. As a couple Mike and Phyllis lived to see all their children marry and have nine grandchildren. Michael and his cousin Louis took over ownership of the duck farm in the early 1960’s and turned it into a very profitable and successful operation until it closed in 1987. In 1993, Michael was married to his second wife, Grace Silecchia. Michael and Grace were married for 27 years and enjoyed traveling the world, playing golf, and a beautiful home in Palm City, Florida, alongside their many friends. Michael is survived by his wife, Grace, his oldest sons Gabriel and Ralph, his daughter Michele Gallo Cook and her husband Edward, his youngest son Stephen and his wife Joanne (Frabizio), nine grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his daughter-in-laws Barbara Gallo and Gail Gallo. In Lieu of flowers donations to be made in Michael's name to Patchogue Neighbors Soup Kitchen. P.O.
