Pat was 1 of 4 siblings: The late Philip Vassallo, Charlie Vassallo, and sister Lillian Wachsmuth. Beloved son of the late Charles and Susan Vassallo. Pat Vassallo was a leader in many ways. As an entrepreneur, he established multiple businesses, and as a corporate executive worked for several organizations. Later on in life, Pat worked as an adjunct lecturer at a local college teaching architectural design and most recently in the Rocky Point School District. This served as an opportunity for Pat to give back to the next generation. Pat was known as “the driver” – the man you could count on to get things done. To know Pat was to understand that he maintained incredible energy and fortitude and most notably, had the ability to lead people to accomplish a common goal. This was his passion; this was his gift. Those that worked with Pat always knew they were on a winning team. Family was most important to Dad. Nothing in this world made Dad more proud than to talk about his family, including all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. This was his reason for being. His profound love and support gave us all a true sense of confidence and security knowing that he always had our back. Being a true patriarch, Dad was always focused on our lives; continuously reaching out and being there for us. No matter how small or large the challenge, we knew we were never alone. We learned many lessons from Dad. Among them: “Life will be challenging so make sure you have a plan”, “It does not matter what you do in life, just be the best at it.” And most important, “family comes first”, so be there when they need you. Our father communicated with us often to say that he loved us, and that he was here for us no matter what. And we never doubted it. He always led by example and influenced our lives in so many ways. His commitment to family that he made to all of us, we will in turn pass on to the next generation. As our father would often say, “I love you to the moon and back”. We all love you too, Dad. Our faith teaches us that you are not alone, and that one day we will all be together again. Until then, rest easy knowing that we will never forget you, or the lessons you taught us, and that your legacy of commitment, dedication and caring will live on in each and every one of us.
