Conrad F. Asmus
November 28, 1935 - November 16, 2021
The Patchogue-Medford area sadly lost local guitarist & vocalist, Conrad Asmus this past Tuesday. A fixture in the music community, Asmus frequented open mics & venues since moving into the area with his wife Barbara. Known for his pitch perfect soulful playing of 1950’s Rock & Roll and Blues, Asmus was able to grace generations with the gift of his music. In his youth, professionally recorded for United Artist with the Coasters; famous for Yakety Yak. In his later years, he frequented Peter’s Luncheonette and Patchogue Bowl, where he made many friends and was a consistent member of many bowling leagues. Asmus gave back to the community by sharing his music at many local and east end Nursing / Elder Care facilities, where he would delight residents with the music of their youth. Conrad is survived by Wife Barbara, Children Linda & Scott, Grandchildren Kurt, Kara, & Dana, and Great Grandson Nicholas. Deeply loved by his family & friends, he will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Conrad's name may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. To donate, please visit: https://www.stjude.org/
