Fernando Luis Vazquez
October 15, 1950 - February 8, 2022
Fernando L. Vazquez passed away peacefully on February 8, 2022 surrounded by his family at the age of 71. Fernando was born October 15, 1950 to Tomas and Juana in Ponce, Puerto Rico and was the eldest of four children. Fernando was a loving Son, Dad, Brother, and greatest of all the Number 1 Papa. Fernando proudly served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam as an Administration Specialist. Many years later Fernando went on to work at Entenmann’s Bakery as a baker. After Entenmann’s Fernando worked for the Pilgrim State Psychiatric Center as a drug & alcohol counselor to help people of all ages. Fernando is survived by his daughters Victoria and Vanessa, brothers Jose and Thomas, and his sister Nancy. He was a loving Grandfather to Jordan, Jayden, Airiana, Charisma and Tristan and Great Grandfather to Oliver, Noelle and River. Anytime you walked into the room he would always be smiling and was full of life. He kept life simple, he never asked for too much and only wanted the love and respect he showed his family and friends to be returned to him which is what made him happy. The one thing he did love was his craving for “Sweets” since the “baker in him” never left his heart. Also, a “Gambling Man” he would at any given time have a stack of lotto tickets waiting to be cashed in or scratched off and in his earlier days found himself betting on the winning horses. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Fernando (Nando) was lucky to have such an amazing and loving man in their lives. He will be truly missed but his memories will always live on through his Family & Friends.
