July 12, 1930 - June 9, 2020
John Stanley Robb, who lived a long life, full of love and adventure, passed away at the age of 89, surrounded by his three children in Greenville, SC, on June 9, 2020. John, “Pop”, was born on July 12, 1930 in Maspeth, NY, son of John Steven Robb and Sophia Robb, older brother to Thomas Robb. With powerful lessons learned from his family, as well as living through the Great Depression, John knew the value of hard work, integrity, faith in God, and the importance of family. John married the love of his life, Joan Sweeney, who was always full of love and life, and together they raised their family, daughters Susan and Kate and their son John Anthony, in Patchogue, Long Island. John loved being on a boat and loved being on, or near, the water as often as he could. His heart loved the salty air and being on the sea was always a place he wanted to be; clamming, fishing and sailing on the Great South Bay. John is a Veteran of the Korean War and always had the greatest respect and love for his country, “The Land of The Free”. He cherished freedom, and appreciated the price that is paid by our brave military to provide us with this gift! John had a long, successful career working for Grumman (now Northrop Grumman), in Bethpage, NY, in Human Resources, until his early retirement, when he gave his everything to take care of his beloved wife Joan when she needed him. After Joan passed away, John married Patricia Cuff, who he loved very much. Pat was a kind and loving addition to his family. They went on many adventures over their 25 years together by land and by sea! His cherished family consisted of his parents John and Sophia, his brother Tom, his wife Joan and their children Susan, Kate and John and his wife Nova; his grandchildren Holly, John, Jake, Dave, John Anthony II and Joanie; his great grandchildren Rob Jr., Riley, Sophia, David, Charlie and their families, along with his second wife Pat and her children John and his wife Roseann, Edward and his wife Lisa, and Tommy and his wife Maria; their grandchildren Thomas, Casey, Amanda, Megan, Katelyn and Angela. His family deeply cherishes his legacy to them of love, strength, honor and commitment. Dad, “Pop”, we love you so much! Thank you for all you have given us! We eagerly look forward to the GREATEST FAMILY REUNION and PARTY of all time when we are someday all in Heaven together, enjoying Love and Joy ... for all Eternity! You said in your last "Five Wishes” you want to be remembered by this: “I thank Jesus for giving me a good family." We also thank Him for you! We give all praise and thanksgiving to God Almighty for His gift of Eternal Life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
